The Human Body is Aerobic
The organisms that use oxygen in the breathing process and respiration are aerobic whereas organisms  that do not use oxygen are anaerobic. The human body is aerobic, and so requires oxygen to generate energy. This process is called – Aerobic Respiration. In simple terms, it is cellular respiration: a set of metabolic reactions and processes that take place in the cells to convert biochemical energy from nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and then  release waste products.

Distinction between Respiration and Breathing

These are two distinctive processes  of human body; the respiration occurs inside the human body being part of metabolism, the breathing is the process of inhaling and exhaling the air. The important aspect of breathing process  is that it is  both conscious and unconscious.

Breathing and Deep Breathing

The human body can not live without breathing. So, we are always breathing even without conscious of our breath while talking, walking, sleeping or being busy or engrossed in other matters of day-to-day life. While doing so, sometimes, we forget to breathe for a while or we don’t breathe properly. The startling fact is that we use only 21% the capacity of our lungs. This affects our health in the long run resulting into various diseases. The process can be reversed and optimized by breathing consciously: the deep breathing. So, the deep breathing is to learn some methods or techniques to increase the supply of oxygen by using or activating the idle capacity of lungs. Hence, the deep breathing is conscious breathing. The benefits are enormous in maintaining or regaining health naturally. I have already written following articles on my another website on the subject. The readers are requested to read and share my articles with family and friends.

The Deep Breathing Exercises

The ancient scholars in different parts of the world took note of the importance of the breathing process, although their objectives were different. Consequently, we have inherited from our past such wonderful methods and techniques such as Yoga, Pranayama and Tai Chi etc.  Nowadays, even modern scholars have realized the importance of breathing process in maintaining or regaining health, and so we have more breathing techniques or practices developed in our times such as Yoga & Pilates etc. and some mechanical devices. I will examine all the old and new breathing techniques in my subsequent articles one by one. My next article on Pranayama : Seven Breathing Exercises.  Please continue visiting. The readers are requested to offer comments to enable me to create better content for the benefit of humanity at large.

Thank you for your visit.

The Element of Air Air is one of five basic elements of life viz. Air, Water, Earth, Fire & Sky. As I discussed in my article “The Human Body : Five Basic Elements” in my another website, www.healthwithoutmedicines.com , the human body as well as the universe is composed of all these five elements. However, in the present article, I am writing about element of air exclusively. Air : Defined In pure physical terms, air is the name given to atmosphere of earth,  used in breathing and photosynthesis. Dry air contains (by volume) 78.09% Nitrogen, 20.95% Oxygen, 0.93% Argon, 0.039% Carbon Dioxide [read more]
